J. Randall Mascagni,
MBA, CFP®
President

Randy Mascagni formally entered the financial planning field in 1988, but if you ask what first sparked his interest, he will tell you it was his family's personal experience. At age 22, Randy was called to help his family make critical financial decisions after the loss of his father. From this experience he grew and others began to call on him for his thoughts regarding their own situations.

After 13 years as a personal investor and with business experience at McCarty Farms, Inc., he joined EFP, Inc., in Jackson. His appreciation at a young age of the value of financial planning drove his passion for his field, making his profession ring true on a very personal level. After only a short while in the industry, Randy built his own financial planning firm, Mascagni & Company, Inc. Then, in 1998 the firm relocated from Jackson to the James House in historic Olde Town Clinton, located in the brick-and-mortar heart of Clinton, MS. Mascagni & Company today employs an organized team of competent professionals who work together to support Randy and the firm's clients. In addition, the firm was recognized as one of the country's top wealth advisors by Bloomberg in July 2004. Also, in July of 2006 Randy was featured by USA Today's Money Section in a pre-retirement financial planning review with suggestions for a married couple living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Outside the office, Randy spends most of his time with his family. He is married to the former Vickie Havard of Ocean Springs, MS, whom he met at the University of Southern Mississippi where he received his undergraduate degree in business administration. After they married and moved to Clinton, Randy attended Mississippi College, earning his MBA in 1986. Randy and Vickie have two sons: Collin, who is a graduate of both Liberty University ('03) and the Univ. of Alabama ('04), has a Masters in Accounting and is employed as an auditor with KPMG; Carter is a recent Forestry graduate of Mississippi State University ('07) and is employed with Scottland Timber Company. The Mascagni family is very active and involved at Morrison Heights Baptist Church, a central part of their lives, where Randy currently teaches Sunday School, serves as a deacon, and carries other responsibilities at the church.

Randy has given of his time to organizations such as the M&F Bank Advisory Council and the Heart of David Ministries. Also, he has served as President of the City of Clinton Chamber of Commerce (2005) and also as President of the MS Chapter of the Financial Planning Association (2005-06). In the past, Randy has also served on the board of directors and as treasurer for the MS chapter of the American Heart Association, specifically addressing their Investment portfolio.

Randy especially enjoys the unique opportunities he has to work with others in their efforts to accomplish personal and specific financial goals. And he also enjoys the opportunity to help his team at the office, from his ongoing commitment to help out college interns in their efforts to gain valuable work experience and begin to build a solid foundation for future careers, on to the long-term commitment he places in his full-time employees. He will be the first say he is "truly blessed" to make his career doing just this.
